Even if you love action games, there are times when you just want to relax and play some game that will be a good brain training as well. This game ‘Pobs’ is just right for that kind of entertainment. You will not keep your device away once you start playing it.

Let’s play

Select ‘QUICK GAME’ from ‘PLAY’ and start the game.I will explain the rules while playing.

There are your Pobs and the opponent (CPU’s) Pobs (round ball like objects).Your Pobs are red and CPU pobs are the blue ones.

As for the rules, if your Pobs are more than the opponent then you win. The obvious question will be how to increase your Pobs? The game goes on in turns and in your turn you can carry out 2 actions against 1 Pob. You can either copy the Pob to the square next to it or can toss the Pob to the far off place.

Using the copy and jump skillfully is the key to win
Let us touch a Pob. When you do that the frames of blue and green appear. You can copy the Pob to the green frame. (the place adjacent to selected Pob). That means you increase a  Pob. I have shown it with arrow for explaining(it is not there in the actual game)

The yellow frames are the attached to outer side of the green frames. Selected Pob can be tossed here. As this is just moving the Pob, the number of pobs will not increase. The frame where it was originally becomes blank.

You may think what is the use of jump when I need to increase the pobs. There is no need to jump at an early stage of the game. It is required in the later half of the game. For the time being just copy the Pobs.

The color changes when the Pobs are next to each other, increase the Pobs of your color

Here is an important rule. When you are adjacent to opponent’s Pob you can change it to your color. It is like lock in the game Othello. In Othello you need to place a disc so that you have a disc of your color at each end of an opponent’s row of discs of his color, however, in case of ‘Pobs’ you can lock when it is adjacent.

In the screen below, in the left image, opponent’s Pob is near at hand. When the Pobs are next to each other,you can change them to your color (red) as shown in the image at right. You need to go on increasing your Pobs this way.

It is highly possible that the Pob changes to opponent’s color immediately even if you have copied the Pob. Let us try tossing the Pob. (the image at left below ) I was able to increase many Pobs at once. (image at the right ). Go on increasing the Pobs and fill all the squares or continue till all the places are over, and in the end the side with more Pobs wins.

 

 

As I mentioned above, Jump is the key to success.
The beauty of the app ‘Pubs’ is you pour yourself in the game until the last minute as you can turn the whole game in your favor with just one spectacular move. You indulge yourself in the game seriously even after knowing that your opponent is Computer.

 

2 people can also play

There are various modes in the game.

Single Player

• QUICK GAME
• CLASSIC
• TIME ATTACK
• SCORE LIMIT

 

Two Players

• CLASSIC

 

The games are different for individual and for 2 people. As explained above ‘QUICK GAME ‘ is the random game in which you play against the CPU. In ‘CLASSIC’ you need to go on clearing the stages.

 

 

In ‘TIME ATTACK’, you need to make a move within 5 seconds. The timer is displayed at the bottom right. The Pops get copied automatically if you do not make move within 5 seconds, therefore be careful. It is difficult as you don’ have enough time to think about your move.

 

In the ‘SCORE LIMIT’ mode, the score for win is decided.You can not win if you have not gathered certain number of required Pops at the end of the game.

 

You can see the flag at the lower side (next to scores). The bar goes on increasing; however, if the bar does not reach the flag you lose the game.

 

The game ‘Pobs’ can be played by 2 people also. In the ‘CLASSIC’ mode of ‘Two Players’, two people can play against each other on the same device. Each one need to tap the Pob once. It is more interesting to play against a person than CPU.

 

As the rules are very simple, you will be able to enjoy the game by just touching the Pobs. Do try it for fun.
